Hi! I’m Kendra.
At the heart of my work is a deep love for the healing arts, the natural world, and people in all their complexity. I’m passionate about supporting health and vitality through personalized care - care that honours the body, the nervous system, the land we live on, and the unique stories we each carry.
Before stepping into this work, I spent many years in the corporate world. I managed large client portfolios, built highly personalized plans for major life milestones, and loved walking alongside people through meaningful transitions. I also found real fulfillment in mentoring others, facilitating workshops, and contributing to community initiatives through volunteering and fundraising.
And still, something felt off.
Despite doing “good” work, I often felt like I didn’t quite belong. Each day took enormous effort. I felt tethered to late-night crisis calls, after-hours demands, and a pace that left little room to breathe. I was exhausted, burned out, and quietly wondering when life would start to feel like my own.
That tension became the doorway inward.
I turned toward my own healing, both conscious and unconscious, and began the slow, honest work of untangling my life. Through personal practice, ritual, and deep self-inquiry, I found a sense of connection I had been longing for. I learned to meet fear, grief, and suffering not as problems to fix, but as places to listen. In doing so, I rediscovered parts of myself I hadn’t known were missing, along with a profound sense of compassion, gratitude, and reverence for life.
When a parent became suddenly and seriously ill, everything crystallized. Caregiving during a time of uncertainty and grief pushed me to make the change I had been circling for years. That period taught me more than any textbook ever could.. about suffering, impermanence, acceptance, and what it truly means to show up. I immersed myself in the experience, in Dharma, and searched for my own middle path within it all.
There was an inner voice, quiet but unwavering, calling me toward something more meaningful.
So I took the leap.
What began as a dream of community, clean water, living soil, and shared values eventually brought me to a beautiful corner of British Columbia. Here, I felt a clear pull to work more personally with people, to be of service, and to support everyday life in tangible, grounded ways.
Health transcends mere absence of illness; it embodies an entire state of well-being.
It’s a whole-state experience. I see each person as a living, evolving system, shaped by relationships, environment, history, and resilience. I love helping people cultivate more harmonious relationships with themselves, with others, and with the natural world, supporting practices that build sustainability, adaptability, and vitality from the inside out.
I hold a Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine and practice as a Registered TCM Practitioner, Acupuncturist, and Herbalist in Nelson, BC, with additional training in ecotherapies, microneedling, sports medicine, herbal therapies, and post-concussion care.
I’m also a Registered Professional Counsellor (RPC), with advanced training in Somatic Experiencing (Peter Levine), Compassionate Inquiry (Gabor Maté), Integrated Listening Systems, and the Safe and Sound Protocol. I offer counselling via telehealth and work with people across Canada, in accordance with the laws of British Columbia.
While “home” often feels like a state of mind, I currently live in Nelson, BC, surrounded by mountains, water, and wildness. Much of my time is spent outdoors, barefoot when possible, tending a small permaculture farm, learning from the land, and living a lifestyle rooted in curiosity and experimentation. Exploring alpine lakes, wandering forests, and moving through the Kootenay and Rocky Mountains continues to ground and inspire me, shaping both how I live and how I work.
I look forward to connecting with you and, if it feels aligned, walking alongside you in support of your health, healing, and well-being.
