  • Chinese Medicine focuses on the overall state of health in the body. It was built from observing nature and believes in attuning to the natural world in various ways. Humans are said to experience the greatest health when they are living in balance not only internally but also externally. Chinese medicine does not focus on the disease, but rather on the system and all of its relationships as a whole. It excels as a preventative strategy to optimize health and well-being on all levels.

Modern Medicine focuses on disease management. Symptomatic treatments are common and often provide quick relief. Modern medicine is vital when it comes to life saving, emergency interventions.

Chinese Medicine does not replace Modern Medicine. It is important that both modalities are used when appropriate, they are complimentary to one another. Understanding the right time and application for each is important.

  • No. Our work together is 100% consent based, meaning that we work together to make sure you are comfortable with your treatment.

It is normal to feel apprehensive about Acupuncture at first. After all, they are needles and Acupuncture is an invasive procedure. There are many other tools that your practitioner may employ that are also very effective, many are even incredibly relaxing. Talk to your practitioner about your concerns so that they can adjust your treatment to suit you. It is normal that your tolerance could change day-to-day, so ongoing communication is key! Asking questions is always encouraged. Feel free to connect with Kendra to express your concerns ahead of time, your comfort is important.

  • Yes, when prescribed by a trained, licensed professional. Yanaroot works primarily with plant materials. While herbal therapies have the ability to act as powerfully as pharmaceutical drugs, they don't often cause side effects. Chinese herbs can come in powders, pastes, liniments, capsules or raw, depending on the herb and its intended use. Each herb has its own unique personality and healing properties and each prescription is highly specific to each patient's condition.

Yanaroot strives to seek out the highest quality herbs available. I am proud to make these organic, premium medicinals accessible to you.

Each of these herbs was produced in small batches to ensure freshness, and samples of each lot are obtained prior to purchase to ensure the quality meets strict standards. Herbs must be clean, fresh, and of good colour and sapor (taste or flavour) to meet the most rigorous testing in the industry. All of these aspects contribute to the amount of nutrients and minerals that your medicinal tea will contain.

I only purchase herbs with a ND (none detected) result on pesticide tests, eliminating the potential side-effect of pesticide and herbicide residues.
